BarbyChurchBeing a Church School

Barby C of E Primary has been a Church of England school since its foundation and is now part of the family of schools within the Peterborough Diocese Education Trust having converted to Academy status on 1st July 2014.

As a Church school, we do not only undergo Ofsted inspections but also the Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools (SIAMS), also known as a Section 48 inspection. More information about these can be found on the Church of England website.

The outcome of our last SIAMS Inspection (January 2025)  concluded that Barby is living up to its foundation as a Church school -J1; the inspection team reported that;

  • The school's Christian vision clearly guides leadership, creating a nurturing and inclusive environment
  • Collective worship is well-planned, inspiring, and spiritually enriching for both pupils and adults.
  • Kindness and respect underpin the school culture, valuing each individual’s uniqueness.
  • A shared understanding of spirituality enhances spiritual growth throughout the school community.
