During the 2020/21 COVID pandemic, school closures during periods of lockdown resulted in many children not attending school for significant periods of time. In response, the government has provided funding for schools to support children to ‘catch up’ with lost teaching time after school closure. This is especially important for the most vulnerable pupils and those from disadvantaged backgrounds.
While schools can use their funding in a way that suits their cohort and circumstances, they are expected to use this funding for specific activities which will help pupils catch up on missed education.
Please see our Catch-Up Strategy Statement which details our planned expenditure of allocated Catch-up funding.
