A place where we learn how to love God, one another and ourselves and to serve the community

We follow the vision of the Church of England and deliver education that shows 'life in all its fullness'. This is reflected in our school vision:

We inspire children to reach their full potential as they journey through life; stimulating a thirst for knowledge, building confidence and resilience, and embracing Christian values.

To achieve this, we aim:

  • To provide a high quality, inclusive teaching and learning experience that enables children to achieve to the best of their ability.
  • To provide a nurturing environment which allows the freedom for mistakes, providing opportunities to learn from them in order to build confidence and resilience.
  • To live our Christian values across the school enabling children to grow and develop an understanding of life within a multi-cultural society

As a Church School our Christian ethos underpins every aspect of school life. Our Christian Values of Compassion, Courage, Fellowship, Thankfulness and Wisdom are a thread that run throughout our whole school; we aim to encourage children to demonstrate these and recognise them in others, celebrating and cherishing them as they are lived out.

We are pleased to have very strong links with St Mary’s Church in the village.

Throughout the year different classes are invited to participate in services in Church; the children take on roles such as readings and prayers as well as helping to explore the theme set for that month.

We regularly attend Church as a whole school for key Christian festivals and many of our families attend other services throughout the year, such as Harvest, Mothering Sunday, Christingle and Easter. These services often include songs the children have learnt in school, enhancing the links between church and school.

Reverend Nigel Fry regularly leads our Collective Worship and welcomes the children and the school community to visit the church and attend its services.
